Manage your Booking.com media with enhanced sync

How to manage your property and room type images for Booking.com from your SiteMinder platform.

This feature is currently available to select properties and will become available to all properties soon.

With enhanced sync for Booking.com, you can manage your property and room type images directly in your SiteMinder platform, without needing to log in to the Booking.com extranet.

To manage your media in SiteMinder, you need to authorise media access. If you do not authorise, you can continue to manage your media via the Booking.com extranet.

Authorise to manage media on Booking.com

To manage your Booking.com media in SiteMinder, you need to authorise the connection.

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com.

  2. Go to the Property Media tab.

  3. Click Authorise.

  4. Sign in to your Booking.com account in the pop-up window.

  5. Grant photo access to SiteMinder - RDX.

  6. Click Confirm connections.

💡 You can also authorise from within a room type configuration. Go to the Room types mapping tab, click on a mapped room type, click Configure, and scroll to the Media section > click the Authorise button.

Once authorised, your Booking.com media will automatically sync with SiteMinder. Your existing media will not be changed.

💡Imported images are tagged as External and display as thumbnails only, while high-resolution versions remain hosted by Booking.com.

Manage property media

To manage images of your property on Booking.com, such as common areas and building exteriors:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com.

  2. Go to the Property Media tab.

  3. From here you can upload, assign, reorder, and delete media.

💡 Note:

  • When Smart ordering is on, your media is automatically reordered to help boost gallery views. Guests will see media in a different order than shown in SiteMinder.

  • A maximum of 299 images are allowed across all property and room type galleries for Booking.com.

  • Images must meet Booking.com's file requirements: Minimum dimensions of 300 × 300 pixels, maximum dimensions of 14,000 × 14,000 pixels, maximum file size of 50 MB, and supported formats of JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) and PNG (.png). Higher resolution is recommended to improve your content score. See Booking.com’s guidelines here.

Manage room type media

To manage images for a specific room type on Booking.com:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com.

  2. Go to the Room types mapping tab.

  3. Click on the mapped room type.

  4. Click Configure.

  5. In the channel room type configuration, scroll down to the Media > Room type media section.

  6. From here you can upload, assign, and delete media for that room type.

Delete external media

To delete an external image from your property or room type media on Booking.com:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com.

  2. Go to the Property Media tab, or open your room type configuration for room type media.

  3. Hover over the image and click the pencil icon

  4. Click Delete image.

⚠️ Once an external image is deleted from the channel it cannot be restored.
