Enable Booking.com enhanced sync

How to check your room type and rate plan mapping for mismatches, fix them, and request enhanced sync for Booking.com

💡 If you're connecting Booking.com for the first time, enhanced sync will be enabled automatically. If you're already connected, SiteMinder will automatically upgrade your connection and notify you ahead of time. To enable enhanced sync sooner, contact our support team.

Before enabling

Enhanced sync for Booking.com requires a strict 1:1 mapping between your SiteMinder room types and rate plans and those on Booking.com. This means each room type and rate plan in SiteMinder must correspond to exactly one room type or rate plan on Booking.com, and vice versa.

Before enhanced sync can be enabled, check and fix any mapping inconsistencies.

More than one SiteMinder room type is mapped to the same Booking.com room type

More than one SiteMinder room type mapped to the same Booking.com room type is a mismatch. This can happen when room types are duplicated or cloned in SiteMinder, or when a room type is split without updating the Booking.com mapping.

To check and fix this:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com > Room types mapping.

  2. Set Group by to Room Type.

  3. Look for any Booking.com room type that has more than one SiteMinder room type mapped to it.

  4. If you find one, decide which SiteMinder room type is the correct match.

  5. Unmap the extra SiteMinder room type. Or, create the missing room type in your Booking.com extranet, then remap each one.

  6. Confirm each Booking.com room type has exactly one SiteMinder room type mapped to it.

A SiteMinder room type is mapped to more than one Booking.com room type

A single SiteMinder room type mapped to more than one Booking.com room type is a mismatch. This can happen when Booking.com has duplicate room type entries, or when room types are restructured on the Booking.com side without updating the mapping in SiteMinder.

⚠️ If you have a room that can be sold as two different configurations on Booking.com, for example, as a king room or a twin room, the correct solution is to use the alternate bedding configuration option in your Booking.com extranet, not to map one SiteMinder room type to two Booking.com room types.

To check and fix this:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com > Room types mapping.

  2. Set Group by to Room Type.

  3. Look for any SiteMinder room type that is mapped to more than one Booking.com room type.

  4. If you find one, check your Booking.com extranet to confirm which room types are active and required.

  5. Unmap the extra Booking.com room type. Or, create a separate SiteMinder room type for each Booking.com room type and remap so each has a 1:1 mapping.

  6. If any Booking.com room types are duplicates, remove them from your Booking.com extranet.

More than one SiteMinder rate plan is mapped to the same Booking.com rate plan

More than one SiteMinder rate plan mapped to the same Booking.com rate plan is a mismatch. This can happen when rate plans are duplicated in SiteMinder, or when a rate plan is split, for example, into refundable and non-refundable versions, without updating the Booking.com mapping.

To check and fix this:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com > Room rates mapping.

  2. Set Group by to Rate plan.

  3. Look for any Booking.com rate plan that has more than one SiteMinder rate plan mapped to it.

  4. If you find one, decide which SiteMinder rate plan is the correct match.

  5. Unmap the extra SiteMinder rate plan. Or, create the missing rate plan in your Booking.com extranet, then remap each one.

  6. Confirm each Booking.com rate plan has exactly one SiteMinder rate plan mapped to it.

A SiteMinder rate plan is mapped to more than one Booking.com rate plan

A single SiteMinder rate plan mapped to more than one Booking.com rate plan is a mismatch. This can happen when Booking.com has multiple rate plan entries, such as a standard rate and a mobile rate, that were all mapped to the same SiteMinder rate plan, or when rate plans were consolidated in SiteMinder without cleaning up old Booking.com mappings.

To check and fix this:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels > Booking.com > Room rates mapping.

  2. Set Group by to Rate plan.

  3. Look for any SiteMinder rate plan that is mapped to more than one Booking.com rate plan.

  4. If you find one, check your Booking.com extranet to confirm which rate plans are active and required.

  5. Unmap the extra Booking.com rate plan. Or, create a separate SiteMinder rate plan for each Booking.com rate plan and remap so each has a 1:1 mapping.

  6. If any Booking.com rate plans are duplicates, remove them from your Booking.com extranet.
