⚠️ Important: If you have a property management system (PMS), central reservations system (CRS), or revenue management system (RMS) that syncs inventory restrictions to SiteMinder, make all inventory updates in your PMS/RMS/CRS. Do not make any manual updates in your SiteMinder platform or they will be overwritten.
About minimum and maximum length of stay restrictions
Minimum length of stay (Min LOS) and Maximum length of stay (Max LOS) restrictions help maximise occupancy and revenue during periods of high and low demand.
Minimum length of stay (Min LOS) — set the minimum number of nights guests must book. Combine with discounted rates to encourage longer stays during slow periods.
Maximum length of stay (Max LOS) — set the maximum number of nights guests can book. Help to distribute rooms fairly and accommodate more guests during peak demand.
You can set min stay or max stay restrictions at the rate plan level or in your inventory grid:
Inventory grid: Distribution > Inventory.
Rate plans: Rooms and rates > Rate plans. If you set default restrictions at rate plan level, you can apply an override for specific room rates if needed.
Set min/max stay restrictions in rate plans
Add or update the default minimum and maximum stay restrictions in the rate plan:
Go to Rooms and rates > Rate plans.
Click Add a rate plan to create new, or to update an existing rate plan, click on it > select Edit.
In the Restrictions and Inclusions section, set the Default minimum stay and Default maximum stay.
Click Save.
Note:
Changes to minimum and maximum stay restrictions in rate plans will apply to all future dates.
You can override min and max stay restrictions for specific room rates if needed.
Set min/max stay restrictions in the inventory grid
Add or update minimum and maximum stay restrictions in the inventory grid for all your distribution channels, including Direct Booking. You can set date-specific stay restrictions.
Go to Distribution > Inventory.
Find the room rate you want to update.
Click on the cell in the Min Stay or Max Stay column for the specific date.
Enter the new value then click Save.
Bulk update min/max stay restrictions
To update minimum and maximum stay restrictions across multiple dates, room rates, and channels:
Go to Distribution > Inventory.
Click the Bulk update button.
In the Set drop-down menu, select Min stay or Max stay.
In the To field, enter the new stay requirement value.
Select your date range and days of the week.
Select the room rates and channels to update.
Click Save.
