Manage your channels and channel settings

Manage your connected channels and channel settings in the SiteMinder platform.

To manage your connected channels, go to Distribution > Channels > My channels tab.

Reorder your channels

To reorder your channels for display in the inventory grid and rate plan list:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels tab.

  2. You will land on the My channels tab.

  3. Click on the Reorder button at the top right corner.

  4. Click, drag, and drop the channel names in your preferred order.

  5. Save and confirm your changes.

Update channel settings

To update the settings for a channel:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels tab.

  2. You will land on the My channels tab.

  3. Click on the ellipsis button (three dots button) next to the channel’s name.

  4. Select Update channel settings.

  5. In the Channel settings tab, click on the edit button to modify the settings.

  6. Make the changes and click Save.

Here are some examples of common channel settings:

Rate multiplier

A Rate multiplier is a calculation (increase or decrease) that is applied to rates before they are sent to a channel to adjust the rate for commissions and taxes.

Use the Rate multiplier simulator tool to test how your channel rates will change compared to your daily Full rate.

Your rates in the Inventory grid will show without the Rate multiplier applied.

Currency conversion

If Currency conversion is enabled in your Property settings, you can also enable it for the channel to send prices in a different currency to your base currency.

The currency selected in your platform must be the same as the currency selected on the channel extranet. Currency conversion cannot be used if Rate plan currency is enabled.

Note:

  • Currency conversion is only applied to the rates set in the inventory grid. It cannot be used if Rate plan currency is enabled (i.e. if you choose to use different currencies in the inventory grid)

  • Currency conversion will not apply to extra charges configured in the channel rate’s settings (i.e. extra person charges and discounts). These extra charges need to be set in the currency being sent to the channel, as currency conversion will not apply to them.

  • If you make any changes to currency settings, check your online channels to ensure they are displaying correct rate information. It may take several minutes for channels to display updates.

Reservation E-mail Address

If the Reservation e-mail address setting is included in the channel’s Channel Settings, it means that a reservation notification will be sent from your SiteMinder platform. If you don’t see a Reservation e-mail address setting in Channel Settings, you will set up and receive e-mail notifications from the channel directly.

Note:

  • To map your room rates, go to your channel’s Room Rates Mapping tab.

  • To check which actions were performed on your SiteMinder platform for this particular channel, go to My channels > ellipsis button (three dots button) > click Audit.
