Introduction to policies
Add or update your property’s policies in Property settings > Policies:
Check-in and check-out times;
Smoking policy;
Terms, conditions and privacy policy.
Check-in and check-out times
Check-in and check-out times apply to Direct booking and Channels Plus, and may also be shared with channels that support content sync, such as Airbnb.
Provide guests with your property’s check-in and check-out times to make it easier for them to plan their stay.
Add the Start time for check-in (for example, 2 PM), and End time for check-out (for example, 10 AM).
Restrict your check-in and check-out times
Enable the Restricted check-in and check-out times toggle to specify the windows of time that the guest can arrive at and leave your property — a useful option if your front desk staff is only available at specific times.
Restricted check-in times:
Select a Start time for check-in and End time for check-in — for example, guests can check-in from 2 PM, but no later than 5 PM.
Restricted check-out times:
Select a Start time for check-out and End time for check-out — for example, guests can check-out from 8 AM, but no later than 10 AM.
Smoking policy
Your Smoking policy only applies to Direct booking.
A smoking policy helps guests understand the rules for smoking at your property. To set your Smoking policy, select one of the following options:
Smoke-free property — no one can smoke anywhere on the property.
Non-smoking rooms — there are specific rooms where smoking is not allowed.
All public areas non-smoking — smoking is not allowed in common areas, but allowed in designated smoking rooms.
Terms, conditions and privacy policy
Your property's Terms, conditions and privacy policy only applies to Direct booking.
Guests must read and agree to your property's Terms, conditions and privacy policy to complete a booking on your booking engine.
Terms and conditions — your terms and conditions should detail your property’s rules and restrictions. Keep them simple and succinct to increase the chances that your guests will actually read and understand them. A list of dos and do nots is adequate.
Privacy policy — you should disclose how your customers’ data is gathered, used, and managed. Customers will also see your Privacy policy when selecting cookie preferences upon visiting your booking engine, so add any relevant details. But again, keep it short.
