How to set up a scheduled message to be sent when a reservation is modified.

Set up a reservation update message

With Guest Engagement you can set up a reservation update message that will be sent to the guest when their reservation is modified (for example, if stay dates have changed).

To create a reservation confirmation update message:

  1. Go to Guest Engagement > Communication > Scheduled messages.

  2. Next to Pre-stay, click the Create new button.

  3. Select Reservation confirmation.


  4. Create your message, such as adding the subject line, and adding content to the body of the message.


  5. In the Sending rules tab, under When should the message be sent? select Guest updated from the drop-down. A new setting Watch fields will appear.


  6. In the Watch fields drop-down box, select all relevant reservation details that if changed, will trigger the reservation confirmation update message to be sent (such as a change to arrival date or departure date).


  7. Click Save changes.

⚠️ A reservation cancellation message cannot be created as there is no status option in Reservation details.
