Your base currency is the currency accepted at your property and used to set daily pricing in your inventory.
Important: Make sure currency settings match between your channels and SiteMinder platform to avoid displaying different values or currencies.
💡 Currency exchange rates are taken from XE.com several times a day to calculate conversions.
Setting up your base currency
To set your base currency:
Click on your property name in the top navigation bar
Select Property settings > General information > Currency
Choose your base currency from the dropdown menu
Note:
Changing the base currency does not re-calculate or convert existing rates. You must update rates after changing the currency.

⚠️ Important: Changing your property's base currency after initial setup temporarily affects your channel connections and Direct Booking rates.
If you use a PMS
Update the currency in your PMS to match the SiteMinder currency or enable currency conversion if your PMS supports this feature.
If your PMS does not have the currency conversion feature, you will need to disable all channel connections and manage rates directly from each channel extranet during the currency changes.
If you have Direct Booking enabled
Deactivate all your Direct Booking rates
Go to Property Settings > General Information > Currency
Uncheck "Enable currency conversion" (if currently enabled)
Select your new base currency from the dropdown
Click Save
After changing the base currency
Update your rates in the updated currency
If you have a PMS, send an inventory push from your PMS
Check your connected channels to ensure they are displaying correct rates
If all prices are correct, enable your channel connections and remap all channel room rates and re-activate all Direct Booking room rates
