Update channel settings
To update channel settings for your connected channels:
Go to Distribution > Channels tab.
In the My channels tab, click the ellipsis button (three dots button) next to the channel's name.
Select Update channel settings.
Once in the Channel settings tab, click the edit button.
Make required changes and click Save.
After changing channel settings, updates typically take 15-30 minutes to take effect across your distribution channels.
Example channel settings
💡Property code: Note if you need to update your property code / hotel ID in channel settings, please contact our support team. It cannot be manually updated in channel settings.
Rate multiplier
A rate multiplier adjusts your rates before they are sent to a channel. Use the Rate multiplier simulator to test how your channel rates will change compared to your daily Full rate.
Your rates in the Inventory grid show without the Rate multiplier applied.
Currency conversion
To use currency conversion:
First enable currency conversion in your Property settings.
Configure currency conversion in Channel settings to send prices to the channel in a different currency to your base currency.
The currency selected in your platform must match the currency in the channel’s extranet.
💡 Note:
Currency conversion only applies to rates in the Inventory grid.
Currency conversion cannot be used if rate plan currency is enabled (i.e. if you choose to use different currencies in the inventory grid).
Currency conversion will not apply to extra charges configured in the channel rate’s settings (i.e. extra person charges and discounts). These extra charges need to be set in the currency being sent to the channel, as currency conversion will not apply to them.
Check your channels after changing currency settings to ensure correct rates are displayed. Note: it may take several minutes for channels to display updates.
Reservation e-mail Address
If you see a Reservation e-mail address field in channel settings:
Reservation notifications will be sent from your SiteMinder platform. Enter your e-mail address. For multiple emails, separate them with a semicolon (;). Example: reservations@hotel.com;manager@hotel.com
If there is no Reservation e-mail address field in channel settings:
This means you'll need to set up and receive booking notifications directly from the channel.
Enable a channel
Enable the channel once you have mapped all required room rates:
Go to Distribution > Channels
Find the channel you want to enable
Click the ellipsis button (three dots) next to the channel
Select Update Channel settings
Click the Enable the connection to [channel name] button
Enabling a channel allows inventory updates to be sent to that channel
Disable a channel
To disable a channel:
Go to Distribution > Channels
Find the channel you want to disable
Click the ellipsis button (three dots) next to the channel
Select Update Channel settings
Turn off the Enable the connection to [channel name] option
Disable the channel in channel settings if you want to stop inventory updates from being sent from your platform to the channel for all channel rates.
Existing inventory on the channel remains until manually changed. You can re-enable the channel at any time to resume updates
💡 Note:
The Reservation commission percentage setting is only available for Agoda, Trip.com, Expedia, and Jetstar. When enabled, the channel's commission percentage will be added to reservation totals shown in your platform and sent to your PMS for NET rates.
