After changing channel settings, updates typically take 15-30 minutes to take effect across your distribution channels.
Example channel settings
Property code
⚠️ To update your property code (also known as Property ID, Hotel ID, Channel ID, or Account Number) for a connected channel/OTA, you must contact our support team.
The Property code field in your channel settings is read-only and cannot be modified within the platform. Contact our support team who can disconnect the old Property/Hotel ID and update the number to the new one.
Important: when requesting a property code change, note the following:
Property code (hotel/property ID for a channel connection) can only be updated by our support team
Changing your property code will require re-mapping all your rates to the channel
After re-mapping, you will need to verify all connections to ensure that rates, availability, and other property details are synced correctly
Rate multiplier
A rate multiplier adjusts your rates before they are sent to a channel. For example, a 1.2 multiplier = 120% of the rate.
Your rates in the Inventory grid show without the Rate multiplier applied.Use the Rate multiplier simulator to test how your channel rates will change compared to your daily Full rate.
Note: A rate multiplier does not adjust:
Extra person fees, such as an additional adult rate or single guest discount, configured as part of occupancy-based pricing (OBP) for the channel
Extras, which are priced separately from your room rate
Currency conversion
To use currency conversion:
First enable currency conversion in your Property settings.
Configure currency conversion in Channel settings to send prices to the channel in a different currency to your base currency.
The currency selected in your platform must match the currency in the channel’s extranet.
💡 Currency conversion:
Only applies to rates in the Inventory grid
Cannot be used if rate plan currency is enabled (i.e. if you choose to use different currencies in the inventory grid)
Does not apply to extra charges configured in the channel rate’s settings (i.e. extra person charges and discounts). These extra charges need to be set in the currency being sent to the channel, as currency conversion will not apply to them
May take several minutes for channels to display updates after making changes. Check your channels after changing currency settings to ensure correct rates are displayed
Reservation e-mail Address
If there is a Reservation e-mail address field in channel settings:
SiteMinder sends reservation notifications to your property
Enter your property's e-mail address. For multiple email addresses, separate with semicolons (;)
If there is no Reservation e-mail address field in channel settings:
You will receive reservation notifications directly from the channel, not from SiteMinder
Set up your e-mail notification settings directly with the channel. Contact the channel for assistance
For Direct booking: To set up your property e-mail notifications for direct bookings, go to Direct booking > Configuration > Guest communications > E-mail contacts.
Username and password
For certain channels only, you may need a username and password to connect, provided by the channel. If the username and password field is greyed out and cannot be edited, please contact our support team to update.
Reservation commission percentage
The Reservation commission percentage setting is only available for Agoda, Trip.com, Expedia, and Jetstar
When enabled, the channel's commission percentage will be added to reservation totals shown in your platform and sent to your PMS for NET rates
Enable or disable a channel
Enable the channel once you have mapped all required room rates. Go to Distribution > Channels > find the channel and click the ellipsis (three dots button) > select Update Channel settings > click the “Enable the connection to [channel name]” button.
Click the Disable connection to [channel name] button if you want to stop inventory updates from being sent from your platform to the channel for all channel rates. Note that this does not send a stop sell to the channel. Once a channel is disabled, you must manage and delete your rates directly via the channel extranet.
💡 Reorder how channels appear in your inventory grid and rate plan list by going to Distribution > Channels tab > click Reorder in the My channels tab > drag and drop the channel names > click Save.
