Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access guest details
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access guest details
Updated this week

To protect sensitive data in compliance with PCI DSS standards, multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required to access guest details, such as guest contact and payment details.

Multi-factor authentication has replaced the previous verification code (one-time password) method.

For additional security you'll need to authenticate using your multi-factor authentication (MFA) method to:

  • View guest contact details (e-mail address and phone number)

  • View guest payment card details

  • Modify a Direct booking reservation

  • Download a list of reservations (Reservations page)

  • Set up a payment gateway

How to access protected guest details with multi-factor authentication (MFA)

To access protected guest details, multi-factor authentication is required.

  1. Click on the action you want to do (for example, click on the eye icon to view guest contact or payment details).

  2. When prompted to enter the MFA verification code, open your authenticator app.

  3. Enter the six-digit verification code from your authenticator app.

If you haven't set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) yet, you'll be prompted to set it up the first time you try to access details that require MFA authentication.

Troubleshooting

Cannot receive MFA authentication codes:

  • Check that your authenticator app is properly set up

  • Ensure the latest version of the authenticator app is installed

  • Check you are using your chosen authentication method (SiteMinder app or authenticator app). Reset your method if needed (profile icon > My account)

Getting stuck in MFA setup loops:

  • Log out from SiteMinder completely including from the mobile app, then log back in

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies

  • Try a different browser, network, or device

  • Open your browser in incognito or private mode
