To manage your booking engine’s promotion codes, go to Direct booking > Promotion codes.
Benefits of creating a URL for a promotion code
You can create a URL for your booking engine using a promotion code to direct potential guests to the associated room rates.
💡 Promotion codes can be created with or without a discount.
For example, you can send guests the URL you create, and when they open the URL, they will be directed to a page on your booking engine where they will see all the room rates assigned to that promotion.
➕ Some examples:
You can create a URL that opens the rates assigned to a promotion code.
You can create a URL that opens a specific room type (i.e. assign a promotion code with or without a discount to all room rates for a specific room type).
You can create a URL that opens only rates that include breakfast (i.e. assign all these rates to a promotion code, with or without a discount).
Create a URL for a promotion code
To create a URL in your booking engine to show specific promotion codes, follow these steps:
Create a promotion code by following article Create a promotion code for your Booking Engine.
Go to Direct Booking > Configuration > Guest display options > General settings. Find the Room availability display section and click on the Edit icon. Tick Hide public rates when a promotion code is applied. Click Publish changes.
Go to Direct Booking > Configuration > Guest display options > Booking Engine URL. On the URL, click on Copy link.
💡 If your property is located in Europe, Middle East, Africa or America, your URL will look similar to this: https://direct-book.com/properties/propertyname
For properties located in Asia or the Pacific, your URL will look similar to this: https://book-directonline.com/properties/propertynameAt the end of the URL, add ?promocode= followed by the promo code you have created. It will look similar to this: https://direct-book.com/properties/hotelthisisanexample ?promocode=winterspecial.
