Important to know:

  • To access this feature, go to Payments > Payment terminal tab.

  • Payments must be enabled to access the Payment terminal. You can enable Payments by choosing a payment gateway and following the instructions.

  • The Payment terminal can only be used with SiteMinder Payments. It cannot be used with third-party payment gateways.

Introduction to Payment terminal

Payments has many time saving features like automated payment processing, etc. However, it is still necessary to sometimes take manual payments from guests, for example with walk-ins.

This can be done with the Payment terminal if you are using the SiteMinder Payments gateway.

Take a manual payment:

To access, go to Payments > Payment terminal tab.

  1. Enter the payment details:

    • Description - this will help identify what the charge is for.

    • Amount and Surcharge - these will combine to make the total amount that is charged. The Surcharge can be added as an Amount or a Percentage. (Click None to close the menu.)

    • Card number , Expiry date , Name on card , and Security code - the details of the credit card that will be charged.

  2. Check that the Amount , Surcharge , and Total amount to charge are all correct.

  3. Click on the Process payment button to proceed, or on Clear form to start over.

Note:

  • The Payment terminal can only be used with SiteMinder Payments. It cannot be used with third-party payment gateways.

  • You can also access the Payment terminal by going to Reservations > clicking on the Booking reference of a reservation > Manage payments.

  • Reservations’ credit card details are permanently deleted 7 days after the guest’s check-out.

  • The currency of the payment amount is determined by the country of your property. This was configured when setting up your Payments account.
