About SiteMinder GDS
SiteMinder GDS connects your SiteMinder platform to the Global Distribution System (GDS), a worldwide reservation network used by travel agents and corporate bookers to search and book accommodation. Travel agents and corporate booking platforms use GDS networks to access real-time rates and availability, including negotiated and other restricted rates.
SiteMinder GDS is a separate extranet. Your GDS property content is maintained in the SiteMinder GDS extranet, while your rates, availability and restrictions are managed through your SiteMinder platform. The two systems work together to distribute your property information, rates and availability to connected GDS networks.
GDS networks connected through SiteMinder GDS
SiteMinder GDS connects your property to four major GDSs, including:
Amadeus
Sabre
Galileo/Apollo by Travelport
Worldspan by Travelport
DHISCO IDS (formerly known as Pegasus)
Before connecting
You must either already have an active SiteMinder channel manager connection or be in the process of onboarding the SiteMinder platform channel manager before GDS onboarding can begin.
💡 For the best results with SiteMinder GDS, your property should:
Be located near city centres or airports
Have 20 rooms or more
Offer corporate-friendly amenities like desks and WiFi
Maintain consistent year-round operations.

Connect to SiteMinder GDS
To create your GDS account and start the onboarding process, you must contact our sales team. Your sales representative will provide the information and setup requirements needed to begin onboarding.
Manage your GDS content
Once GDS onboarding is complete, you’ll receive access to your SiteMinder GDS extranet. Your extranet is pre-configured with your property, room and rate content based on your setup form.
After activation, you can:
Update content directly in the extranet
Request content changes through your regional SiteMinder GDS Support Team
Map your rates to SiteMinder GDS
GDS rate mapping is an important part of both your initial GDS onboarding and ongoing GDS management. You will need to map your rates in the following situations:
During initial GDS onboarding
As part of your GDS onboarding, you must map all rates included on your GDS setup form before your GDS activation can be completed. Your GDS onboarding analyst will instruct you when rates are available to be mapped for the first time.
After your GDS connection is active
When you request a new GDS rate, the SiteMinder GDS team will create the rate in the GDS Extranet and complete the required GDS rate loading. Once complete, they’ll confirm the rate is ready and instruct you to map the rate in your Channel Manager. You must complete this Channel Manager mapping before the rate can be booked through the GDSs.
Go to Distribution > Channels > SiteMinder GDS > Room rates mapping.
For detailed guidance, see SiteMinder GDS: Mapping Rates.
Channel advanced settings specific to SiteMinder GDS
Reservation mapping fallback
By default, all reservations are processed using the rate code of the first mapped room rate of the same room type. The Reservation mapping fallback field allows you to specify which mapped room rate (and Rate code) will be used to process reservations.
Only one room rate per room type should be set as the fallback. For this reason, we strongly recommend setting Reservation mapping fallback to No as your default method for mapping GDS rates. This avoids potential duplicate settings and helps prevent issues with rate mapping.
Rates inclusive of tax
Select Yes if rates include taxes and fees
Select No if rates exclude taxes and fees
⚠️ If your property’s pricing includes some, but not all taxes, (e.g. includes VAT, but City Tax is payable during stay) please consult your SiteMinder GDS support team to clarify how this setting should be managed.

No: Applies Minimum stay on arrival. Uses the minimum stay value of the check-in date only
Yes: Applies Minimum stay through. Uses the highest minimum stay value across all dates of the stay
