Connect to SynXis
Before connecting to SynXis, you will need to:
Have a SynXis account and set up your property in SynXis.
Create rooms and rates in SynXis’s extranet, to match the set up in your SiteMinder platform.
To connect to SynXis:
Contact your SynXis account manager to request an XML connection with SiteMinder. SynXis will enable the connection and provide SiteMinder with XML credentials, property code, and the default currency in SynXis.
In your SiteMinder platform, go to Distribution > Channels > find and click on SynXis > follow the steps to connect.
⚠️ The XML credentials are different to your SynXis login details.
Update SynXis channel settings
Once the connection with SynXis is activated, you can update the channel settings in Distribution > Channels > find SynXis and click on the ellipsis button (three dots button) > select Update channel settings.
SynXis supports the channel setting Rate multiplier, as well as the following advanced settings: Enterprise hotel, Process reservations by Room Code, and Use min stay through.
Enterprise hotel
If your hotel is classified as an enterprise hotel in SynXis, select “Yes” to Enterprise hotel in the channel settings.
Process reservations by Room Code
The Process reservations by room code channel setting determines how reservations are handled when room rates in SynXis don't exactly match what's mapped in your SiteMinder platform.
If enabled — Reservations will only be confirmed if both the room code and rate plan match what is mapped. If there is no exact match, the reservation will not be processed, and you will need to handle it manually.
If disabled — Processing reservations is more flexible. There will first be an attempt to find a match using both room code and rate plan. If no exact match is found, a fallback option will be used if one is set. If no fallback is available, the first available room will be selected. This helps ensure reservations are processed even if not all rate plans are mapped.
You can set a Reservation mapping fallback for each channel rate in the channel rate configuration. Go to Distribution > Channels, click the ellipsis button (three dots button) for SynXis, select Edit room rates mapping > click on the channel rate and select Configure > set the Reservation mapping fallback option, then click Save.
Use min stay through
There are two types of minimum stay:
Minimum stay through — set in channel settings. If there are different minimum stay values applied to any of the stay dates, this setting ensures the greater value is applied to bookings.
Minimum stay on arrival — set in the the inventory.
➕ For example:
A booking will be made via SynXis for 15 - 17 August.
A minimum stay through value of 3 nights applies on 15 and 16 August.
As the minimum stay through period of 3 nights applies to the reservation, a third night must be added to be able to complete the booking.
If Use minimum stay through is set to No — your minimum stay will be sent to SynXis as Minimum stay on arrival. This rule defines the minimum stay period for bookings according to the check-in date’s minimum.
Example:
A booking will be made via SynXis for 15 - 17 August.
There is a minimum stay on arrival value of 2 nights on 15 August and 3 nights on 16 August.
As the minimum stay is defined by the check-in date, the two-night stay will be possible.
