Introduction to collecting reservation payments in your booking engine

The Booking Engine will collect payment card details from a customer when they make a booking. You can integrate SiteMiteMinder Payments , our official payment processing solution, with the Booking Engine to process payments and refunds.

An automatic Deposit can be set up in order to process full or partial payments at time of booking.

If you do not have a SiteMinder Payments account, you can process payments for direct bookings on an external system of your choice.

Set up the payment methods you accept in your Booking Engine to ensure your guests only make a booking using a payment card type that your property has the ability to process, with the relevant surcharges (if applicable).

Note:

  • When a guest books directly on your website using the Booking Engine, their payment card details are securely stored for seven days after the guest checks out. You must ensure to process the guest’s payment within seven days after the check out date.

  • The settings for Accepted cards only apply to bookings made via the Booking Engine.

  • If a reservation Deposit is enabled, surcharges will be applied to the total amount of the Deposit.

  • Credit card and surcharge settings will not be applied to third-party payment gateways, as third-party gateways redirect guests from the Booking Engine to an external website where they must enter their credit card details to make a payment.
