Control how your rates sync between your property management system (PMS) or revenue management system (RMS), and your SiteMinder platform.
⚠️ Syncing rates from SiteMinder to your PMS/RMS is currently only available for Opera OHIP customers. Opera OHIP customers must contact our support team to enable this functionality before activating the rate sync in inventory settings.
If you're not on a supported integration, the SiteMinder → PMS sync option is not available. To request this capability, contact your PMS provider.
Go to Distribution > Connectivities to control what inventory data (rates, availability, restrictions) syncs between your PMS/RMS and your SiteMinder platform.
You can:
Set default inventory settings for all rates
Override inventory settings for specific rates
Manually manage certain rates in your SiteMinder platform
Choose how inventory syncs between SiteMinder and your PMS/RMS
To update your inventory settings for your connected PMS/RMS:
In your SiteMinder platform, go to Distribution > Connectivities
Select your connected PMS/RMS.
In the Settings tab > scroll down to Inventory settings and click on the pencil icon.
Update the flow of inventory data and save changes.
Choose how inventory data flows between systems:
Sync direction | Description |
PMS/RMS → SiteMinder | Your PMS/RMS will send the selected inventory data to SiteMinder. |
Do not sync | Manage inventory data directly in your SiteMinder platform. Data will not sync from your PMS/RMS to SiteMinder. |
SiteMinder → PMS/RMS | Manage rates in your SiteMinder platform and sync them to your PMS/RMS. ⚠️ Syncing rates from SiteMinder to your PMS/RMS is currently only available for Opera OHIP customers.Opera OHIP customers must contact our support team to enable this functionality before activating the rate sync in inventory settings. |
⚠️ Currently, only Rates can be synced in the SiteMinder → PMS/RMS direction. Restrictions (such as stop sell and minimum length of stay) are not yet available in this direction.
Set a different sync direction for a specific rate
You can set different inventory settings for individual rates by overriding your default PMS/RMS inventory settings. For example, you might want to manage most rates directly in your SiteMinder platform, but sync one rate from your PMS/RMS.
To override inventory settings for a specific rate:
In your SiteMinder platform, go to Distribution > Connectivities.
Click on your PMS/RMS.
Go to the Rooms and rates mapping tab.
Click on the PMS/RMS rate > click on Edit inventory settings
Click on the lock icon to make changes.
When an override is applied, you'll see an "Inventory override" label on the PMS/RMS room rate.
⚠️ Important to note:
After making changes: If you change settings to make your PMS the source of inventory data, you must perform a flush from the PMS to ensure the latest data syncs with SiteMinder
Dynamic Revenue Plus: If you are using Dynamic Revenue Plus with dynamic pricing enabled, your inventory settings will be set to “Do not sync”. You will need to manage inventory including pricing directly in your SiteMinder platform
Frequently asked questions
Which PMS connections support rate sync from SiteMinder to my PMS?
Rate sync from SiteMinder to your PMS is only available for the Opera OHIP connection. It is not available for Opera ADS, Opera OXI, or other PMS integrations. To request this capability, contact your PMS provider.
I'm an Opera OHIP customer: what do I need to do to activate rate sync from SiteMinder to Opera OHIP?
Contact our support team to enable access to this functionality. If you attempt to enable rate sync from SiteMinder to Opera OHIP without access configured, you will receive an error notification by email.
Can some rate plans sync from my PMS to SiteMinder while others sync from SiteMinder to my PMS?
Yes. You can choose to sync different rate plans in different directions — some from your PMS to SiteMinder, and others from SiteMinder to your PMS.
