Add or remove stop sells

⚠️ Important: Before you add or remove stop sells

Do you have a PMS, RMS, or CRS connected to SiteMinder that syncs stop sells? If yes, update your stop sells in your PMS/RMS/CRS — not in SiteMinder. Do not make any manual updates in your SiteMinder platform or they will be overwritten.

Stop sell vs availability

Close your rooms to prevent bookings:

  • Close an entire room type and all associated rates completely — set availability to 0. Use this to remove an entire room type from sale across all channels for the selected dates. For example, to stop sell a room and all rates for a long period

  • Close a specific rate or channel — use stop sell. Use this to stop selling a specific rate on certain channels while keeping other channels or rates for the room type open.

Add a stop sell

To add a stop sell to certain rates and channels in the inventory grid:

  1. Go to Distribution > Inventory.

  2. Find the room rate and click the down arrow next to the room rate to see its channel rates.

  3. Find the channel rate then click the Rates down arrow next to the channel rate name.

  4. Select Stop sell from the dropdown menu.

  5. Tick the checkbox for each date you want to close.

  6. Click Save changes.

💡 If you want to close an entire room type across all channels, set availability to 0 for the selected dates instead of using stop sell.

Bulk update

To apply or remove stop sells in bulk, use the Bulk update button or the lightning button in the inventory grid.

You can use Bulk update to apply or remove stop sells to a room rate (will apply to all channel rates associated with the room rate) or an entire channel.

Remove a stop sell

To remove a stop sell in the inventory grid:

  1. Go to Distribution > Inventory.

  2. Find the room rate and click the down arrow next to the room rate to see its channel rates.

  3. Find the channel rate then click the Rates down arrow next to the channel rate name.

  4. Select Stop sell from the dropdown menu.

  5. Untick the checkbox for each date you want to reopen.

  6. Click Save.

  7. This will re-open the channel rate for selected dates.
