You can create custom links (URLs) for your booking engine using promotion codes. When visitors open this link, they'll be directed to a page in your booking engine showing only the rooms and rates linked to that promo code.
For example, you can assign a promotion code to all room rates for a specific room type, or just to specific rate plans.
You can create promo codes with or without a discount.
Here are some examples of how you could use promotion codes to get a custom link for your booking engine. Send your potential guests a link to direct them to:
Your promo code deal (i.e. your “winterspecial” rates). You could send guests the link when you distribute your promo code.
Rates that only include breakfast (i.e. assign all your breakfast rates to a promotion code, with or without a discount).
A specific room type (i.e. assign a promotion code with or without a discount to all room rates for a specific room type).
How to get a link for a promo code
To get a link (URL) for a promo code so you can direct visitors to the rooms and rates attached to a specific promo code, follow these steps:
Create a promotion code. (Go to Direct booking > Promotion codes).
Back on the Promotion codes page, click Expand all, or click on the down arrow to the left of the promo code’s name.
Click on the Promotion code link.
The link will be copied to your clipboard. Paste the link where needed.
If your property is located in Europe, Middle East, Africa or America, your URL will look similar to this: https://direct-book.com/properties/propertyname?promotion_code=winterspecial
If your property is located in Asia or the Pacific, your URL will look similar to this: https://book-directonline.com/properties/propertyname?promotion_code=winterspecial
