Guest Messaging Security Measures from Booking.com

Updated this week

Booking.com have implemented security enhancements designed to prevent phishing attacks over their guest messaging platform. These changes may impact how some messages are sent to Booking.com guests from SiteMinder.

What is changing?

To enhance security, Booking.com has implemented security settings that block any system (including SiteMinder) from sending messages to guests unless the system's email address and any included links are approved.

These security settings are not automatically being enforced across all properties connected to Booking.com, however the following update will ensure that there is no interruption to any of the emails sent to guests that book your property through Booking.com.

What do I need to do?

To ensure that SiteMinder payment requests, or Guest Engagement communications, are received by your guests that booked through Booking.com please take the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Booking.com extranet (must be an Admin user)

  2. Select Property > Messaging preferences

  3. Click Security settings

  4. Complete multi-factor authentication

  5. Ensure Block all email communication is set to Off

  6. Click Add email address and add the following email domains:

    1. @app.siteminder.com

    2. @guestjoy.com

  7. Ensure Block all links is set to Off

  8. Click Add a link and add the following domains:

    1. siteminder.com

    2. guestjoy.com
