About unmapped or disabled rates

When rates are not mapped correctly (or are disabled) in your SiteMinder platform to your channels (OTAs), your rates and availability may be incorrect, the booked room type/rate plan will be show blank (-), and reservations may not be delivered to your PMS.

As well as needing to be mapped to channels, rates also need to be mapped to your PMS/RMS. When rates are not mapped to your PMS or RMS, reservations will not be sent through.

Unmapped or disabled channel rates can lead to:

  • Incorrect availability, rates, and restrictions showing on your channels

  • Risk of overbooking due to availability not updating

  • Reservations failing to deliver to your PMS

  • Missed booking opportunities

Check for unmapped and disabled rates

Check for unmapped and disabled rates on your Dashboard, or go to your channels to check room rates mapping.

On your Dashboard:

Under Property status, check:

  1. Disabled channel room rates

  2. Reservation delivery failures today

Under Connectivities status, check:

  1. Your PMS rates mapped count. Ensure mapped rates match the total.

On the channel’s room rates mapping page:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels.

  2. Click the ellipsis button (three dots button) next to the channel name.

  3. Select Edit room rates mapping.

  4. Check for any red warning icons on channel rates.

  5. Filter by Unmapped to see all unmapped rates.

  6. To see all disabled rates, click More filters > under Rate update status, select Disabled.

Identify unmapped rate reservations

On the Reservations page, reservations for an unmapped rate will show:

  • A blank or unknown room type and/or rate plan showing as (-).

  • Missing or incomplete PMS delivery status. Shows (-) in the Connectivity status column in the reservations list (Reservations page).

You'll also receive an e-mail notification if a reservation is made for an unmapped rate.

Rates need to be both mapped to the channel and your PMS/RMS, with a matching room code and rate code (Distribution > Connectivities > Rooms and rates mapping).

Handle unmapped rate reservations

If a reservation is received for an unmapped channel rate, the system will try to link it to the closest matching room rate in your platform. However availability will not be updated, and the reservation will not be delivered to your PMS.

When you receive a reservation with an unmapped rate:

  1. Check the channel's extranet for the complete reservation details.

  2. Add the reservation details to your PMS.

  3. Map the channel rate to prevent future unmapped reservations.

Map unmapped channel rates

To map your channel room rates correctly:

  1. Go to Distribution > Channels.

  2. Click the ellipsis button (three dots button) next to the channel name.

  3. Select Edit room rates mapping.

  4. Filter by Unmapped.

  5. Map any unmapped rates.

  6. Click Yes to start updating the channel.

  7. Click Save.

Map unmapped PMS/RMS rates

You must map all rates to your connected PMS/RMS:

  1. Go to Distribution > Connectivities.

  2. Go to the Rooms and rates mapping tab.

  3. Map all required rates to your PMS/RMS provider.

  4. Enter the room and rate codes from your PMS (PMS mapping codes). Contact your provider directly if you need assistance in getting these codes.

Prevent unmapped rates

Prevent unmapped rate issues:

  • Filter your channels room rates mapping by Unmapped and Disabed to ensure all required rates are mapped.

  • Check your dashboard daily for disabled channel room rates and reservation delivery failures.

  • Keep your channel mapping up to date when adding new rates.

  • Check your mapping and inventory on your channels after making rate plan changes.
