Upload and manage images in your Media Library

Upload and manage your property's images (Property settings > Media library).

Updated yesterday

Your property's images from your Media library will be displayed on:

  • Your booking engine

  • Channels you connect to on Channels Plus

  • Channels that support receiving images from our platform (such as Airbnb)

Go to Property settings > Media library to upload and manage your images.

Tips for great photos

Images are usually the first thing guests look at when deciding to book. Great photos showcase your property's best features and give guests confidence to book.

Include images of:

  • Property’s exterior.

  • All rooms including bathrooms, and views from the room.

  • Unique features and amenities.

  • Close-up details.

Tips for taking photos:

  • Ensure clean and tidy spaces. Make the beds, and clear clutter off surfaces.

  • Use natural light if possible, and avoid flash.

  • Take photos from different angles and heights.

  • Get close-ups of special features.

  • Watch for unwanted mirror reflections.

  • Use a licensed drone for exterior shots.

  • Capture views from the room on clear days.

  • Include bathroom photos and any bathroom amenities you provide. Close toilet lids for bathroom shots.

Upload images

To upload images to your Media library:

  1. Click on your property name > Property settings.

  2. Click into Media library.

  3. Click into the tab you want to load images into: All, Property, Room types, Extras, Guest communications or Floor plans.

  4. Click Upload images or drag and drop image files.

If you use SiteMinder's booking engine, you can also upload images into your Media library for:

  • Your Booking engine banner image.

  • The header and footer image for your guest e-mails.

  • Images for your Extras.

💡 The recommended image sizes are:

  • Regular images: 2560px width and 1500px height.

  • Banner image: 2560px width and 600px height.

  • Header/footer images: 600px width and 210px height.

Assign images

Once you have uploaded images to your Media library, check they are assigned to the relevant category. To assign images to a category:

  1. Click on the image(s) you want to assign to a category.

  2. Click Assign image.

  3. Select the category (room types, specific extra, property gallery, guest communications, etc).

  4. Click Save.

💡 Note:

  • Assign images to each room type to highlight a room’s unique features. We recommend assigning at least 3 images to each room type (don’t forget one of the bathroom!).

  • You can assign an image to multiple categories, for example, if you want the image to show under both the Property and Room types section on your booking engine.

Add image descriptions

Image descriptions help make your property photos and images accessible to everyone, including those who rely on screen reader software. When you add descriptive text to images in your Media library, screen readers can convert this text into speech to help guests understand what each image shows.

To add an image description:

  1. Click on your property name > Property settings > Media library.

  2. Hover on the image, then click the pencil edit icon.

  3. Enter an image description.

  4. Click Save.

💡 Write clear, concise descriptions that capture what each image shows. This description is only used by screen readers and will not be displayed on your booking engine.

Delete images

To delete an image from your Media library:

  1. Click on your property name > Property settings > Media library.

  2. Hover of the image then click edit.

  3. Click Delete image.

Note: Deleting the image will permanently remove it from all categories. It cannot be undone.

Troubleshoot image upload errors

If you are getting an error, such as “error verifying reCAPTCHA”, when uploading new images to your Media library, it is usually caused by browser or network issues. Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page and try uploading again.

  2. Open your browser in incognito or private mode.

  3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

  4. Connect to a different network or deactivate any VPN.

  5. Try uploading from a different device.

  6. Update your browser to the latest version.
