To map your room rates to a connected property management system, PMS; revenue management system, RMS; or central reservations system, CRS, go to Distribution > Integrated systems.
Mapping to your connected PMS/ RMS/CRS: Overview
If you have a property management system (PMS), revenue management system (RMS) or central reservations system (CRS) integrated with the SiteMinder platform (Distribution > Integrated systems), you must map all your required room rates in your platform to the corresponding room rate in your connected system. Mapping ensures:
Accurate availability and rates are sent to your SiteMinder platform and all channels
Seamless reservation delivery to your connected system
Prevention of overbookings and missed reservations
Before you begin
Complete these steps before mapping to your PMS/ RMS/CRS:
Create matching rooms and rates in both your SiteMinder platform (Rooms and Rates > Rate plans) and your connected system
Configure rooms and rates identically across all systems to prevent cross-mapping issues
Map to your PMS/RMS/CRS first, before mapping to channels (OTAs)
After PMS/RMS/CRS mapping is complete, map your channels (OTAs)
Make sure to also map all active direct booking rates to your PMS/RMS/CRS
How to map your room rates to your connected PMS/RMS/CRS
To map your room rates to your connected PMS/RMS/CRS:
First ensure you have created the room rate in Rooms and Rates > Rate plans.
Go to Distribution > Integrated systems and click on the name of your connected system (PMS/RMS/CRS).
Go to the Rooms and rates mapping tab.
Under the Mapping status filter, select Unmapped.
Locate the room rate you want to map and click on Map to < name>.
Enter the corresponding codes from your connected system: Room code, Rate code, and Inventory code.
Click on Save changes.
Essential final step: After mapping all rates, initiate a 'push' of all inventory from your connected system to ensure the most up-to-date information is sent through. If you do not know how to do this, please contact your system provider’s support team.
Important: Room codes and rate codes match between PMS
Room code: the code assigned to this room type in your PMS/ RMS/CRS.
Rate code: the code assigned to this rate plan in your PMS/ RMS/CRS. A Rate Code is the identifier your PMS uses for each rate plan that must match exactly between your PMS/RMS/CRS and our platform (including spaces and capitalisation).
Inventory code: the code assigned to this room rate in your PMS/ RMS/CRS.
What happens with unmapped rates?
To help avoid overbookings or missed reservations, you must map all of your required room rates from your platform to your connected PMS/ RMS/CRS that you have connected in Distribution > Integrated systems.
If you have unmapped rates:
Inventory updates won't sync between systems
Channel bookings for unmapped rates won't be sent to your PMS/RMS/CRS
You risk overbookings and missed reservations
To fix any unmapped rates, go to Distribution > Integrated systems > Rooms and Rates Mapping > Unmapped.
If you have unwanted room rates in your channel(s) or connected systems, you should delete them to avoid any potential issues. Contact the support team of the channel or system provider if you need help with this.
Set up reservation delivery failure emails
Get notified when reservations fail to reach your connected system:connected PMS/RMS/CRS.
To set up these Reservation delivery failure emails:
Go to Distribution > Integrated systems and click on the name of your connected system.
Go to the Settings tab.
Locate the Reservation delivery failure emails section and click on its edit button.
Add recipient e-mail addresses, as required — a maximum of five in each of the five fields.
Click on Save.
Download your mapping to share with your PMS/RMS/CRS
You can download your current room and rate mapping as a rates configuration file and share it with your PMS/RMS/CRS provider. The file gives your provider the exact room and rate mapping configured in your SiteMinder platform, so they can compare your SiteMinder codes with the records in their system, confirm each room type and rate plan is mapped to the correct code, and identify missing, blank, duplicated, or outdated codes.
To download your rates configuration:
Go to Distribution > Integrated systems.
Select your integrated system.
Go to the Rooms and rates mapping tab.
Click the ellipsis button (three dots button).
Select Download rates configuration.
Share the file with your PMS/RMS/CRS provider.
Ask them to compare it with their room type, room and rate plan codes.
What columns are in the rates configuration file?
The rates configuration file you download contains five columns: Room Type, Room Rate, Room Type Code, Rate Plan Code, and Inv Type Code.
