Set up restrictions for your direct booking engines through multi-property rate plans

  1. Go to Multi-Property > Distribution > Rate plans.

  2. Click on any rate plan mapped to a direct booking engine.

  3. Go to the multi-property rate plan’s Channels tab.

  4. Look for the Direct booking section and click on its Manage button.

  5. Go to the Restrictions tab.

  6. Review and configure your settings (as explained below).

  7. To change any settings, click on the Edit button.

  8. Once finished, click Save.

Same-day cut-off time

Repeat steps 1–5 in the section above, then select either a specific Cut-off time from the drop-down menu or ’None’.

If you do select a Cut-off time, the associated room rate will only be available for same-day booking and check-in, provided the time of the booking is earlier than the Cut-off time (in the property’s timezone).

⚠️ Setting up a Release period for a room rate will cancel the Same day cut-off time, which will prevent a room rate being booked on the same day as a check-in.

Maximum rooms per reservation

Repeat steps 1–5 in the section above titled ‘Set up restrictions for your direct booking engines through multi-property rate plans’, then select the Maximum rooms per reservation — in other words, the maximum number of rooms that can be booked per reservation and room rate — from the drop-down menu. (Up to 10 nights are allowed.)

Advertised date restrictions

To restrict when a room rate can be offered, repeat steps 1–5 in the section above titled ‘Set up restrictions for your direct booking engines through multi-property rate plans’, select Advertised date restrictions, enable the toggle and complete the following fields:

  • Advertised dates — select the date range(s) during which this room rate can be booked by guests via your direct booking engine(s).

  • Excluded dates — select additional date range(s) during your Advertised dates range(s) to determine when this room rate should not be offered to your guests.

Once a date range has been added to the Advertised dates and/or Excluded dates, the following buttons will be available:

  • Minus button deletes the date range.

  • Plus button adds a new date range. (Up to five are allowed.)

➕ If you wanted to create a Valentine’s Day deal, you could configure the Advertised dates so that guests could only book a specific room rate from 31 October to 14 February.

Stay date restrictions

Once Stay dates — also called applicable dates — have been set up, guests on your direct booking engine will only be able to make a booking if their check-in, stay nights, and check-out take place during the dates you have selected.

To do this, repeat steps 1–5 in the section above titled ‘Set up restrictions for your direct booking engines through multi-property rate plans’, select Stay date restrictions, enable the toggle and complete the following fields:

  • Available days — select or deselect the days of the week when guests can stay at your property by booking this room rate. (All days are selected by default.)

  • Stay dates — select the date range(s) when guests can stay at your property with this room rate.

  • Excluded dates — choose the date range(s) within the Stay dates range when guests cannot stay at your property with this room rate.

Once a date range has been added to the Available days, Stay dates, and/or Excluded dates, the following buttons will be available:

  • Minus button deletes the date range.

  • Plus button adds a new date range. (Up to five are permitted.)

➕ Using the same example above, if you wanted to create a Valentine’s Day deal, you could use the Stay dates option to allow guests to stay at your property on Valentine’s Day only, or on Valentine’s Day and the rest of that week.

Require promo/access code to book assigned room rates

Enable the toggle if you want the promotion code’s assigned room rates only to be visible to — and bookable by — customers on your direct booking engine if they enter the promotion code.

When enabling this setting, a Restricted pill appears next to the rate plan name in the Promo/access codes list on Distribution > Promotions, under a promotion code’s Rate plans tab.
