Troubleshoot when inventory is not syncing from your PMS/RMS/CRS

Troubleshoot when inventory is not syncing or showing correctly from your PMS/RMS/CRS to the Inventory grid in your SiteMinder platform.

Important to know:

  • To successfully send inventory updates and process channel reservations, all required room rates need to be mapped to your channels, and to your connected PMS, CRS, and RMS.

  • Map room rates to your PMS/RMS/CRS in Distribution > Connectivities > Rooms and rates mapping tab.

If inventory (rates, availability or restrictions) are not syncing from your property management system (PMS), central reservation system (CRS), or revenue management system (RMS) to the Inventory grid in your SiteMinder platform, or, if rates, availability or restrictions are not showing correctly in the Inventory grid, please check the following:

  • Check that the room rates are mapped to your PMS, CRS, or RMS

  • Make sure your PMS, CRS, or RMS supports sending the inventory update

  • Try to refresh the sync by sending new inventory updates

Check that the room rates are mapped to your PMS, CRS, or RMS

If inventory is not syncing to your SiteMinder platform, or you are seeing an incorrect inventory value in your platform that does not match what is in your PMS, CRS, or RM, check that the room rates are mapped.

Go to Distribution > Connectivities > go to the Rooms and rates mapping tab > toggle the Mapping status to Unmapped and make sure all room rates are mapped.

If you are seeing an inventory discrepancy, make sure the room rate is mapped to the correct corresponding rate in your PMS/RMS/CRS. Make sure the mapping codes match between your SiteMinder platform and your PMS, CRS, and RMS.

You can download PMS/CRS/RMS rate configuration and share it with your provider to compare mapping codes. Go to Distribution > Connectivities > Rooms and rates mapping tab > click on the ellipsis button (...) and select Download rates configuration. Contact your PMS/CRS/RMS support team for their mapping codes.

Make sure your PMS, CRS, or RMS supports the inventory update

Make sure that your PMS, CRS, or RMS has inventory updates enabled and is able to send the specific inventory value you are trying to sync. Please confirm with your provider’s support team if they support sending the inventory update to your SiteMinder platform.

For example, most RMS are not able to send availability and restrictions but are able to send rates.

Try to send new inventory updates

If you have mapped, but inventory values are still not syncing from your PMS/CRS/RMS to your SiteMinder platform, try to send new inventory updates from your PMS/CRS/RMS to attempt to push the inventory updates and refresh the sync.

Ask your PMS/CRS/RMS support team to resend inventory updates

If you have done all the above troubleshooting steps, but inventory updates are still not being sent from your PMS/CRS/RMS to your SiteMinder platform, check with your provider’s support team who may be able to help resend the inventory updates to your platform.
