Important to know:

  • The Highlight rate plan on direct booking engine feature lets you display your best rate plans and their inclusions and discounts at the top of your booking engine.

  • To highlight a rate plan on your booking engine, add a new rate plan or edit an existing rate plan, then under Direct booking controls, turn on the toggle, ‘Highlight rate plan on direct booking engine’.

About the ‘Highlight rate plan’ feature

The Highlight rate plan on direct booking engine feature lets you display your best rate plans and their inclusions and discounts at the top of your booking engine, helping to attract more direct bookings.

Use this feature to showcase your rate plans as a bundle — include a captivating description, a tagline that creates a sense of urgency, hero image, headline, and highlight up to 10 of your rate plan’s key selling points, such as complimentary services and amenities, discounts, or extras.

The associated room types display below the highlighted rate plan, making it easier for visitors to your booking engine to see the differences between each room type — increasing the chances they may choose an upgraded option.

You can also highlight a rate plan for special occasions, such as seasons, holidays, and events, or use it alongside dynamic discounts (length of stay discounts, package deals and stay pay deals) to help to increase occupancy rates and differentiate your direct offering.

Highlight a rate plan

To highlight a rate plan on your booking engine, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Rooms and Rates > Rate plans.

  2. Add a new rate plan or edit an existing rate plan.

  3. Under Direct booking controls, click on the Highlight rate plan on direct booking engine toggle.

  4. Add a Hero image — click on Assign from Media library to assign an existing image.

  5. Add a Tagline — call out any urgency messaging or key offers included to catch your audience’s attention. For example, “Limited time offer! Breakfast included”. The tagline will display in a ribbon across the top of the rate plan (maximum 256 characters).

  6. Add a Headline — a short description of the offer, for example ‘Bed and breakfast special’ (maximum 256 characters).

  7. Add a Description — some descriptive sentences to attract your guests (maximum 1000 characters).

  8. Key selling points — add up to 10 complimentary services and amenities, discounts, or extras.

  9. Configure the remaining rate plan settings including restrictions and additional Direct booking controls (such as applicable dates).

  10. Click on Save.

Note:

  • If you have multiple highlighted rate plans, they will be ordered from lowest price to highest price at the top of your booking engine.

  • Use the Highlight rate plan on direct booking engine feature alongside Dynamic discounts (length of stay discounts, package deals and stay pay deals). If both are configured, the highlighted rate plan will display at the top of your booking engine as well as under each room type. The dynamic discount tag will show on each associated room rate.
