How can I advertise a special rate to travel agents in the GDS?

You can use the Marketing Messages section to create promotional messages to assist in your GDS sales effort.

These messages display only to travel agents in the GDS during the shopping and booking of your hotel.

  • Log in to GDS by SiteMinder

  • Go to Setup > Channels > Marketing Messages

  • You will then see the below screen.

  • The promotional messages in this example are highlighted in yellow.

  • Edit the Booking Response Messag e and Seamless Response Message.

  • Click Save on the top left corner of the screen once completed.

Note: Only one marketing message is available at one time. Multiple messages cannot be created.

  • Booking Response Message displays in the GDS after the travel agents sells the room. The travel agent does not need to end the transaction, but only commit the room as a sell. This field has a character limit of 140.

  • Seamless Response Message displays on top of the hotel availability screen when the property is selected. It also displays in the rate rules. This field has a character limit on the availability display of 35 characters, however, the rate rules can display up to 64 characters.
