Is it possible to send my guests to Google rather than TripAdvisor?

Determining which platform guests are redirected to after giving you a positive stay rating

Guest Engagement's primary review platform is TripAdvisor, however, we understand that the focus for some hotels is different.

Follow these simple steps to send guests to Google Reviews instead of TripAdvisor!

Step One
Go to Feedback > Settings

Step Two
In the Review widget field, change the setting to Custom links.

It will now look like this:

Step Three
In the first text box, paste the following URL: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=

Step Four
Visit this website and search for your property. Once you find it, copy your Place ID:

Step Five
Paste your Place ID at the end of the URL in the text box.

Step Six
If you have more than one language active, just paste the same URL in each box. Google changes the language displayed when a guest visits the review page 👍

Step Seven

Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Notes on this process

  • At this stage, we do not have the ability to track whether or not the guest actually completes a review on Google, so please keep that in mind.
